Default BB6 auto trans

I did some searching and found out that auto preludes have transmissions problems similar to the accords because the transmission just cant support the heavy chassis. On average, about how many mileage til the transmission goes out? My sister's bf had a auto prelude and the trans was about to go out around 80k.

I am wondering whether to get a lude in the near future but have to see how the auto trans will do.

don't get auto.

It's hit or miss -- some get up to 100k with little or no problems, some have already replaced their trannies two times with only 50k.

The later the year, the better the transmission. I would stay away from the 97~99 Preludes, 2000 is a bit better, but Honda had implemented countermeasures for 2001. I don't think any of them are purely foolproof, but if you really want the best SS Prelude, get a 2001.
