Suggestions on 1988 CRX DX Engine Drops
Hey I just recieved a 1988 CRX DX w/ the stock D15B2 engine. I want more power for my CRX and wondering what type of engines to drop in for my CRX. I know a B16 can fit but I want any that increase horsepower.
-Thanks

probably the best one can be found by using the search engine.... yea.... that one fits the best and will give you the best HP increase.
LOL
Oh and the better question would be what motor cant I put in.

I got this reply from another thread on this forum. Is this a good setup for a 88 crx DX?
Im looking to spend around $1500. I think im going to go witha D series engine over the B simply because of price.
here it is:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- a light EF such a dx hatch or HF crx
-d16a6 bottom, a1 pistons .50 oversized.
- any 88-95 sohc non vtec 16 valve head, ported n polished, milled .020.
-a 270 and + duration camshaft/gear with some good springs to handle to revs
-d16y8 96-00 sohc vtec intake manifold with GSR or H22 TB.
-cold air intake
-good 4-1 style header, and good flowing exhaust
-oem fly shaved to like 11.5 lbs (maybe no more then 12 to be safe) and a good clutch
-ZC tranny with Si final drive
-reprogrammed teg or Si ecu with higher rev limit, + afc + TUNED .
this set up right here equates to a 11.8:1 compression non vtec sohc motor with a displacement of around 1611cc's due to the oversized pistons which are only around 34 a piece when u buy em online. and for the most part, all the parts are oem. this set up will do damage in the right car. and its damn cheap. and dont even get started on a carb conversion. this motor would LOVEEE carbs.

Fluffy_CRX, take that deal the guy is offering! He's also selling the SI transmission with it, which is better than your current DX one. If you get the motor, you'd have to worry about wiring to MPFI and all that good stuff, but it's all worth it.
