Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
At least OP asked, so I'll give them credit for that.
But to be nice about it...no, we are not really fans of ITR "clones". Those threads are best left to the normal Integra forum. However I cannot speak on their stance about this either.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
No. Absolutely not.
I don't want to read about your fake/wanna be/clone Type R or see any questions about putting ITR parts on your non ITR. There is the regular Integra forum for that.
I might sound like a hater, but I had a gsr before and I just got an ITR last fall after years of wanting. These cars are even more special now than back then. Drive or own one and you will understand.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
ITR clones are ghey as **** IMO. Fakin' the funk is what it is. Thicker rear wheel arches, rear sub-frame, DC231 VIN make the chassis. Swapping ITR parts onto a non-ITR chassis is OK but representing it as an ITR when it's not is ******* retarded.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
Im sure the attitude with the younger crowd is along the lines of "my integra has all type r parts so it's basically a type r"
When it couldn't be further from the truth, it's not me being a hater either but I think it takes a certain level of maturity and understanding to fully appreciate just what went into building these cars, no matter how many type r parts are bought and swapped a regular dc won't ever be a type r, and putting itr decals on a non itr is just rediculous, just because you think your car is a type r doesn't make it a genuine type r, and I feel it devalues the actual type r's that are still on the road.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
clones are lame, most of them just have the exterior parts for the look, there are better ways to individualize a car without making a knockoff.
For maintenance and oem+ performance upgrades, it's a no brainer to use the various bushings, sway bars, springs on my car, but it will never be a clone and I love my confetti seats :D
But I still want to go to expo for the experience and fun.

I agree, I've even thought about trading my real R for a fake one to pocket some extra cash and not feel bad about flogging a real R on track....then I realize that's what the ITR was built for and feel silly.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
Why not just buy an ITR if you are going to spend all that money trying to look like one. They really are affordable these days. If you want one that bad, just buy one.
Re: Are type r clones part of the "club" discussion?
Thanks guys and yes itrs are 8k for a salvage title one with b20 im it not to my standards... Stil "cheap" this days, but buying an r was just that, buying an r... I've built myself practically a brand new car that still is upgraded from what a stock r would be, not to mention a 4k miles b18c5(yes got proof), on top of being obd1 which is great!! Insurance is a coin compared to ehat itr
