Dilemma: 93 hatchback build or 01 forester
Ok so some of you may have recognized my previous post these last few month or weeks and know that I've been collecting parts for a suspension rebuild on a 93 civic dx. It's auto, power steering, manual Windows and mirrors, broken a/c, tired engine, salvaged title.
I've been really looking forward to lowering it and I have everything for a full suspension overhaul from hardrace bushings to front and rear gsr sway bars, sportline Springs and the eibach matching dampers. Everything is ready for installation.
As soon as I get everything together my cousin offers to sell me his 01 subaru forester for $3k with 77k miles. Hell of a deal. It's got power everything, a/c (which I haven't had in years), it's a stick, tinted Windows, nice sound system with subs. He says there's a little rust under the car which I have yet to look at (he used to own it on East coast).
I really need a dependable car as I'm a student. But I really want a civic project. For $3k I can put a new engine in the civic and have it just as dependable as the forester but without the AWD, a/c, and space.
I dunno I know it takes time to transform the civic so that should be taken into consideration too. I was just curious what you guys thought. Thanks guys. Let me know what you think.

Why not both?
Since you have everything for the Civic might as well replace it all and keep it as a project car. While the forester can be your parts hauler, DD machine.

I think this is an opinion poll in a technical forum.

Opinion polls are not technical related and do not belong in the technical forums more often than not.
