AEM 30-1040; what are they going for?
the aem is much more solid than megasquirts, yes ve tuning is nice but overall to get a nice megasquirt unit your are spending closer to $ 500 and still have the nasty harness to use. or go with megasquirt pro at $ 1200 .
AEM EMS V1 still have their place. but interface in V2 is nicer and the VE tuning in infinity series makes it best option at the moment ( when spending over a grand ) .

I honestly can't see any modern use for a V1 other than education. It's really the standalone equivalent of a Hondata S200, which should also only be used for education.
Considering a brand new Neptune RTP package is $399, the practical value of an obsolete standalone that's no longer supported by its manufacturer is closer to $200.
