Default jumper harness/stock p30/ or chipped p28

Good day all, I have been working on my B16A swap into my 96 cx, im looking for experience from people on which way to go for a ecu, ebay has a selection of either a obd2a (from my cx harness) jumper harness to a obd2b ecu which is what came with the swap(2000 sir), or can get a stock p30 ecu which I believe is the correct stock ecu,or a chipped p28 that can be modded to my liking.
thanks everyone...

You want an OBD1 Ecu that can be chipped and tuned. You do not want to use a OBD2 ecu at all unless you are content with bolt ons and a stock Ecu.

ok ty, I have a chipped p28, but its suppose to be for a d16y8, maybe I can get it reprogrammed, or have to start reading up on learning to use chrome or neptune,or hondata. what level of mods is it neccesary to take advantage of tuning? Imean if just cai and exaust work doesnt call for tuning. what does?
thx

Simple bolt on breathing mods don't require tuning. Its not unsafe but you can make more power tuned. Typically once you start getting into cams and things that start drastically altering the VE of the engine is when you need a tune.

It 'can' be unsafe. There are very limited learning functions on early Honda ECUs, which leaves your high load range subjected to leaning and detonation if you're able to achieve efficient enough aspiration from bolt-ons (especially intake manifold). Honda engines can handle a ton of knock, but it can still cause premature piston ring and head gasket failure even if nothing else is affected. Tuning is always worth it, otherwise you're not getting the performance out of the parts you paid for. Basemaps and performance chips sold online are NOT safe. You're better off with the P2T ECU than you are with an eBay chipped ECU.
That's my professional advice, take it or leave it.

thx Vegas, i see the p2t is a obd2b ecu, so in your opinion i should get a obd2a to 2b harness jumper. and when you recommend tuning did you mean actual on a dyno tuning?and if I did that I dont think I can use the pt2 ecu.I also thought the P30 was the correct ecu for the B16a? oh and I would need a jumper harness bc im using my 96 wire harness
