Default h22a problems

i've just finished my conversion today in my 5th (f22b sohc vtec) gen. I'm a happy man but there are some problems i have encountered and wondered if anyone may know wat the problems are??
I used a auto H22A engine with an accord tranny, used the h22 looms on engine and plugged them straight to the original accord plugs. Right now, i've borrowed a friends prelude ecu and plugged it in.
Problems are that, not sure if i have v-tec? (already checked the solenoid and it works) i can't hear the roar of the vtec!!!!!!
Second, the temperature gauge is skyrocketing. But the engine doesn't seem hot when i open the bonnet, and it isn't hot in the cabin.
Thirdly, does anyone know how to hook up the reverse lights? cos mine don't work ever since the conversion....

Thanks.............

reverse lights shouldnt have anything to do with the swap, have you checked the fuses?

if there isn't a check engine code for vtec then you should have it (i think the code is 22 or 23, i forgot wich one) but on newer h22's there shouldnt be a vtec pressure switch (atleast thats how it is on f20's and they're pretty much the same), honda intergrated it into the vtec solenoid so you might have to add that. Also, check the thermostat, squeeze the lower radiator hose (the one that runs to the thermostat housing) and listen for a clicking noise coming from the water neck when you squeeze it. If you hear that noise then your thermostat is most likely bad. If i have gotten any info wrong, im sorry and i hope someone corrects me because i dont want to give you any wrong information.

also, what do you mean by you used the h22 looms and plugged them into the accord plugs? Cuz, if you didnt use your stock accord wiring harness and modify it, that might be the origin of your problems.
