Assuming that you are using a 90-91 Teg shift linkage, cut the following out of the straight section of the linkage:
Change rod: 2-5/8"
Compensation rod: 2-3/8"
Hope that helps!

another tip : use a solid rod that fits in linkage, get a friend to hold the shifter in "neutral" while you mark it for welding MAKE SURE ITS STRAIGHT!
make sure the shifter boot is centered in the hole (dont ask me how i know)
after welding that's it

1 1/3 in is wayy too short...i cut mine 1 5/8's the first time...and it didnt come close to fitting...sucked..i paid 20 bucks!! but the next time i got another inch cut off...so both rods i got cut 2 5/8's inches....and it works fine...shifts smoothly
