Default 98 Prelude Auto Trans

Tranny went out on my 98, getting a good deal on a 96 MP1A just not sure what all I would have to do. Not worried about losing the sport shift since I never used it. Do I also need the TCU from the 96. This is my daily driver to work 170 miles total everyday. Any help is appreciated.

I am new to helping people with Auto transmissions but I will give whatever advice I can. I would use the TCU from the 96, and it looks like you will have to re-wire two wires for the two solenoids closest to the bottom of the transmission, its either the lock-up solenoid or the shift solenoid. I have outlined that in RED in the picture below. And you can also look at how your solenoids are on your existing trip-tronic transmission.

its a separate box from the ecu. The only TCU's I have found on eBay. None the less the plugs are the same as the 97-01 TCU's, so it should be a direct fit from what I have seen.

28100-P15-A42 would this be the 96 tranny code. When I look up for 96 it shows 94-96 on it
