So I've determined that my oil leak is coming from my oil pump.
Got it off today and trying to replace the crank seal before I honda bond it and bolt it back on but the thing will not come out. I'm tearing it to pieces but it seems to be stuck on a metal "ring" on the pump.
Any ideas?

That's the front crank seal and I would hazard a guess that it was honda bonded in on the outside edge of seal.
You will have to keep working at it to get it out in pieces.
I don't see why there would ever be a need to add an insert for the outside portion of that seal. The sleeves are usually added onto the crank as that is what usually develops a groove over time.
I think that ring is just part of the seal construction. You can hook under it to help pull the seal out. Just try avoiding scratching any of the aluminum oil pump housing.
You could also try torching it. Burning up the rubber will cause it to contract as it burns and cracks. Could make getting it out much easier, and since the pump is out of the car, clean up will be simple and easy.

if you are still trying to work it out piece by piece a metal dental pick/cleaner works really well: 6 Piece Pick Set
CVS Pharmacy sells a set too.
