Default ITR suspension really worth it?

Okay, I've been debating whether I wanted to cough up $100 and lose my shiny function 7 rear lower control arms on my Integra GS for some ITR coilovers, front and rear and w/ the rear LCA. I decided to post in this thread because I wanted to hear the opinion from the actual owners and I have researched a bit but I barely found anything or I would find other people saying that ITR owners would get aftermarket suspension themselves.. Is the tiny suspension drop worth it and is the handling much better than other stock cars such as my GS?

There's a lot more that attributes to the handling of an ITR outside of the springs and struts.

Truth be told, I doubt you would get that significant of a difference out of it.

it is an improvement, but add the rear sway bar also. You are probably better off just getting the springs and koni yellows to keep your LCAs instead of buying used shocks.

Ah, okay. Haha everybody loves Koni's so I'll save my money. I already have the rear ITR sway bar.

Koni STRT/yellows and Eibach pro kit springs would have a similar effect as a stock ITR suspension.

I have ITR lca, 23mm rear sway, 98 spec shocks and spring. Love it. My car is road car that I road race and autox once in a while. True the shocks are a bit soft for autox but any harsher and it would be a mess on street

What's with all the non-ITR posts lately?

There's a lot more that attributes to the handling of an ITR outside of the springs and struts.
Read this. Then read again.

And people (should) buy suspension based on what they are doing with their cars.

I have ITR front/rear springs/struts and rear LCAs on my EG with GSR swaybars and front upper and lower braces. I love it. It's about stock ride height. No more than .25 inch lower if anything. It's absolutely great for a daily driver not trying to attract attention.

$100 is a great price. That's what I paid for mine locally but going rate is about $250.

ive been wondering why these type of threads hadnt been bounced like they had in the past...technically they belong in whatever chassis the vehicle is, not the parts youve obtained from something else to fit in with the ITR crowd. if you want to get in the ITR crowd, get an ITR..

It's just that the ITR is already 18 years old (19 in Japan). There's really not much new tech or discovery we could talk about, so we'd let some of these somewhat ITR related topics slide.

I've used itr shocks and springs on my dc4 for a few years. 100% stock daily driver. The ride quality was a little more firm and it lowered the car a bit.

Not sure what the big deal is by doing this. Did you die?

^I total agree with "Wai". Without these kind of "somewhat ITR related topics" and even the trolling topics, this ITR forum is pretty dried.

I don't come into the ITR forum to read about some hatchcrap using ITR springs or random other parts. I'd rather it be dead that completely off-topic.

And this forum is dead because everyone moved to another ITR forum and there just isn't that many of the cars left anymore. But by allowing such parts posts, you're only serving to drive away those of us who are left. I used to visit here a few times a day. Now I'm lucky to do so a few times a week. I get tired of all the non-ITR related posts that are allowed by the mods. If you want a hybrid/parts forum here, you're well on the way there. Just change the title and be done with it.

I agree, I don't think these type of threads should be allowed. That way it will only be the "just got 1763-34 who owned it last?" Threads and the "another one bites the dust!" Threads. That way eventually all the ******* ****** will leave HT.

Ok Todd, I've been totally dead here, but after selling my EVO I'm back in the "R" world. Hell my DD is actually antiperformance despite what the P71 forums may say. I'm looking for a Mod position. LMK, I need to get my R in shape for its next debut at an Expo and it seems pretty sad here as of late.

Like I said, I wanted to hear opinions from ACTUAL ITR owners that had their stock suspension. I would love to have an ITR but there isn't any in my area. They are either GSR's with the type R decals slapped on them or just busted shells. I wanted my ride to be firm at higher speeds. My car starts to feel a little loose when driving past 65 MPH. I'm not doing to be one of those dirtbags flying down the highway, I want it because some highway traffic flow goes up to 75MPH. I don't want an extremely stiff suspension that would cause a shitty ride. ITR suspension sounds good because the car was built for racing and it's also OEM suspension.

Also, for the guy that got mad for the thread in the "wrong" topic, feel free to tell a moderators to move this. I figured it would belong here since it relates to the ITR. I'm not that nitpicky.

You know...there is the Integra forum that would be happy to answer your questions about your RS.

Example: That's like me going to the NSX forum and asking if a 91 NSX wheel will fit my ITR. I wouldn't expect nice treatment as that's a stupid question to ask in that forum.

I title-searched the "Integra" forum for "Type Suspension" and got 39 hits. At least half of those were people asking about ITR suspension. What applied in 2005 still applies today, 10 years later.

Good thing I haven't asked you guys about my RS.

You guys are detached from reality. An ITR is nothing more than a regular Integra with options on it from the factory. No different than a Cobra is to a Mustang or a SS/WS6 is to a Camaro/Firebird. In the end it is cool, but still a plain ol Integra.

I do come here for the laughs though

Thank you for proving my point of why parts questions belong in their rightful forum. Your ignorance is much appreciated.
