Default How to properly jack up a Civic?

I finally have most of my components I'll be installing over the weekend.

I bought the following to get the car off the ground:

Arcan KL20 Slim Profile 2 Ton Jack
Torin 2 ton steel jack stands
Wheel Chocks

Now the million dollar question. We have a dirt driveway. It's also mud season in NH so the ground is soft. What should I use as a padding under the jack and jackstands? I was thinking a solid piece of lumber, but I'm not sure what kind I should get, or if there is a better way.

Suggestions?

1/2" or thicker plywood, that's at least 4" per-side larger then the base of your jack or stands.
