Post #CoolStoryBro

Just picked up these CW ITR wheels from the original owner and thought I'd share the short story about these wheels. These wheels are off of a CDM '98 ITR. The owner took these off of his car when the car had about 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles) on it and replaced them with aftermarket wheels. His car was stolen within a year from him owning it (in '99). It was recovered but almost fully stripped. He was very sad and just got rid of his beloved ITR, he didn't want to deal with thieves again. He never had the heart to sell the wheels, it's all he had left from his car. He put them in storage in '99 in his heated garage. He recently posted them for sale and I rushed to get them as soon as I saw them for sale. They're literally new, no flaws. They still have the original Bridgestone Potenza RE010 tires installed with basically 99% tread left. I know tires have a shelf life of 5-7 years (IIRC) but these look great, like new, no cracks or any damages of any kind. Gonna wash these and keep them in storage. He also gave me the original key for his ITR along with the key fob. He was holding onto everything as mementos. He was moving so sold the wheels/tires to me and gave me the key and key fob as he wanted to move on from the ITR for good. Pretty cool guy, sad story... **** thieves!!!

Sad story for the owner though, but great find!

Mine also has the original tires but less thread.
I think I'll just use the wheels/tires as decoration in my garage, probably not the safest driving around on 15y/o old tires

I'm keeping the wheels and tires together and putting them in storage. Not looking to use them, just wanted to keep them.

I also have a cool tyre story bro - I ended up with this 215/45/R16 RE010 HO, apparently the HO means Honda Only? It's too old and will probably be thrown out but I also have the exact same tyre without the HO so just wondering what the story is, and if they are any different. As I said cool story bro.
