intake gasket help
Hey all. Running into problems with my 95 gsr that I'm installing a zerg thermal intake manifold gasket but wen I started her up, it reved all the way to 5k rpm and then back down and a slow fluctuation between idle to 4800ish RPN :'( please help
You have a major VAC leak, is every hose connected and did you scrape the old gasket off when you did this new one. 2nd the studs are very short how many threads are holding the bolts did you tighten then all, are you using a stock manifold or aftermarket one.
The stock manifold and yes I noticed the threads were shorter but I tightened every but down as I've done this before on d series motors but this is my first attempt at a b series manifold but the wife is jus getting a stock one for me. All hoses were connected as well.
5k is an insane VAC leak one that big you should be able to hear, spray some brake parts cleaner around the manifold flange when you find the leak he enine should stutter or die.
make sure you scrape the old one off, if it was still there it will look like paper/cork. If you couldn't fine one that big I would blame the gasket but for 5k that would have to be like the booster and every hose disconnected.
Got her fixed Braddah man, the culprit was the stupid throttle body gasket. I got the zerg kit which has the plenum and throttle body gaskets but wen I swapped the throttle body gasket out, she purred fine. Jus was irritating cuz I literally pulled the manifold off 3 times :-( mahalos for ur help brotha
