Default Exhaust diameter

Hi everyone, i live in Portugal and i have a 98 integra type r. I need some of your help, the car is almost stock and the only changes are the exhaust manifold and the spoon air filter in the oem air box.

Now the problem or not : The original type r exhaust diameter is 57.2mm but i want to get a new one in stainless steel and im thinking in two diameters 60mm or 63.5mm, which one is the best for the mods that i have??

Thanks for your help and sorry for my English.

What diameter is your header? Most folks will run a 2.5" on a B series without boost.

Run it 2.5 all the way back. What muffler were you planning on using? Add a resonator to avoid a raspy exhaust.

I dont know if you guys there use the same metod as us but here we can buy the originals (toda, spoon, tegiwa... and so on) but they are expensive, or we have shop`s that do the job with the exact diameter of the original`s (replicas) for less price, they look quite good and come with ressonator too, The material used is stainless steel 304.

I think im going to follow your advice and go for 2.5" all the way. Thanks

Yup we have access to all those listed and some high end US made options as well. For what you have and other possible bolt ons in the future you can't go wrong with a 2.5" setup.

2.5" all the way with a resonator and muffler. Not many are a true 63mm though. Hytech and T1R come to mind but I can't think of any others. Skunk2 maybe. Most others are 60mm.

Thanks for the help too, im gonna do that (2.5" all the way with a ressonator and muffler), this one is 63.5mm because is custom made, for the use that i give to the car this one will be enough but if i use the car only for track day`s i think i`ll choose Spoon Sports or J`s Racing .

Best Regards
