will 60mm do the job..
well i can get a tanabe super hypermedallion in the bestbuys for 440 shipped... the thing is i want 2.5" piping.. the 60mm is close to about 2.362" , the motor is built and i was told not to go 2.25".. will 60mm do the job..

why not just spend $240 less and get a custom exhaust with the correct size pipe? pick out a muffler, have your pipes custom bent (mandrel bents if you want peak performance, but you probably wouldn't be able to feel a difference with crush bent piping). seems like the thing to do.
as for your actual question, it depends on the motor. what engine, how much power, N/A? turbo? nitrous? if you're just running N/A, 60mm will be fine. if you're going F/I, i'd look for something 2.5" or larger, meaning custom bent.
