Icon6 new here on HT but been lurking hard since 07 lol

like the title says im new to HT but not to forums i mainly stay on HS and other forums. i have a 96 accord ex i bought for $500 not running and it still doesnt run after the swap lol. it had an F22b1 that the previous owner neglected (drained engine oil and it was sludge city) none the less i ripped the swap out and threw my H23A in the shell along with everything from my wagon including 5 speed conversion (8th conversion for me) im kind of stuck between a rock and hard place. everything is wired properly (soldered and shrinkwrapped wires) i have changed the past few parts the past 2 days icu, ignition switch, main relay, fuseboxes, starter, sanded all my grounds and ran new 2 gauge cable for grounds, ecu turns on, fuel pump is priming, etc...... my main issue is that the engine wont crank over at all. i turn on my headlights and dome light and when ii turn the key in attempt to start nothing happens and my lights dont dim one bit. my battery is fine and so is my starter and alternator (several trips to different auto part stores to confirm they werent trying to jugg me on buying new parts lol) i just find it weird the engine doesnt even attempt to crank, i can move the crank with my ratchet but my starter is not rotating when installed but the head does push out, it just is not turning anything over. HT and HS has always helped me with situations like this. i will start an MRT later on during the week.

thank you guys in advance.

What ECU are you using?

have you checked the main relay and ignition switch for voltage to the starter circuit?

Are you getting 12v to the starter solenoid when you turn the key to start? If you put 12v directly to the starter solenoid what happens.

Maybe the cars in gear or something?
Listen closely and see if u can hear the starter click once.
Did u rotate the crank of the engine before putting it in?

i get a click with the key and a click when i jump the starter from the battery to the signal wire. this has me stumped.

the car is in neutral, i hear the starter click but i dont get it to crank by key. yes i rotated the crank and i just changed the oil pan gasket and everything checked out ok since ive barely put 7,000 miles on this engine. i just pulled it out of my other car which was a 94 accord wagon and it ran perfectly fine and that engine was in my other 96 accord. i will report back once i get a multimeter.

got it going. happened to be the alternator to fusebox and battery to starter cable. with a multimeter it was at 12.4 volts and when i would shake the cable it would drop to nearly 8.3-8.1 volts she still run strong

when you bypass that cable and it still doesnt start that means the issue is starter related
