2001 Honda Civic Ex Oil Pan
Hello I have a 2001 Honda Civic Ex that has 157,000 miles on it. The place I got my oil pan changed at, at some point stripped out the drain plug hole on the oil pan so I need a new one. I am only able to find the part at the stealership and its $310.00. Apparently the 1.7L engine in the EX has a different oil pan from the DX/LX models for some damn reason. Does anyone know where I can get this part for a little cheaper than $310.00 and will the DX/LX pan work possibly?
Same block, different heads so, you could use the DX/LX pan but it holds slightly less oil. Also, the DX/LX is a steel pan and needs a gasket while the EX is an aluminum pan and needs RTV. Any 2001-2005 EX or HX pan will work.
Nationwide salvage listings: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market You should be able to pick one up for $50-100.
