Default motor swap ecu /vtec issue please help.

Ok. So 2 weeks ago I blew my 3rd cylinder on my h22. Luckily I had am f20b I've been waiting to put in with my turbo setup. Well now I just put the f20 in cause I need a working car for work. Well anyway, my h22 was running off an obd1 ecu (I don't know the exact one cause I bought it this way) . The ecu was programmed for bigger injectors and all that good stuff. Well I put the f20 In and used the ecu it came with. It runs great but I have no vtec. Now I can plug up the old ecu and get vtec but it runs like crap like it's getting too much fuel. The jumper harness that was hooked up in the old set up has a couple wires cut and taped. I have another brand new jumper HarNess but I'm worried if those wires were cut for a reason I'll mess something up if I plug it in like that. Any input will help. Thanks

Okay your story is freaking busy to say the least but I think I understand it completely. The f20b ecu that it came with should be able to run vtec, unless the wires are all cut up at the ecu harness or your jumper. You should try installing the new ecu jumper harness and see if vtec works or not. And sounds like the h22 basemap/tune on your chipped obd1 you are trying run the f20b with is too rich. The f20b has smaller sized injectors compared to the h22's. What year of car are you running this in? And can you get some pictures so we all can better assist you and give you better advice right now its just a guessing game as to what will work for you.

Wow, that is a whole lot of vague info.

The only fact we have is that you are running an F20B now, and assuming it is a stock engine.

We really need quite a bit on info to help right, like:
What chassis.
What harness.
What dist setup i.e. internal or external coil.
What code are on the ecu you have.
What wires have been cut, or sensors are missing.

Honestly until you get the harness sorted out, it is all guesswork. I would fix or replace the harness, and then use the correct ecu for the engine, or if your car and harness are obd1, ensure that the sensors and dist setup are correct, and get a good tuneable ecu setup, and have a good tuner tune the car.

And I hate to say it, but randomly swapping engines and ecus and hoping it works, is not a good recipe, and will for sure not work with a turbo setup. You need to gain a much clearer idea of the path you need to take, what goal you have, and what it will take to acheive it.

Thank you snobordboy for always being there to write something more clearer then what I was trying to get at. I guess me trying to help people out now after work is a bad idea I can never really clearly say what I am thinking. You are the man, hence why you are Moderator.

Haha I just try to be concise and helpful, and give the best hopes of helping everyone to know what it takes to get good assistance from a forum.

We have a wealth of knowledge available, but having clustered sentences, or people writing like they are asking their buddies on Facebook about it, does not make people want to read and chime in.

I'm sorry I'm not too clear. I honestly don't know too many of the answers you guys are asking because when I bought this car it was hacked together. Its a 01 prelude Non sh. Everything was cut and different on the Car when I got it and I'm not too great with knowing what's what. I'll try to get some pics up so maybe that will help. I'm planning On getting hondata soon and bringing it to get tuned. I'm having my first kid in may so I'm trying to do this on the cheap
