Anyone else dealt with this?

When I bought my car there were no TRUNK SPRINGS in it. odd considering they dont intrude into the trunk space at all. Since replacing them i realized my back deck sounds like twanging a ruler on a table when I hit any bumps and its driving me bat **** crazy.

This weekend I took my wife on a road trip for our 1st anniversary and it seemed to get even worse. I stuff paper around the rear seat unlocking mechanism and arm to no avail, tightened the license plate down even tho it was clearly coming from inside not outside. Finally stuffed paper behind the springs and BOOM gone. My guess is they removed them because of this irritating racket.
