Default Proud new owner of 01-1295

Not sure if I qualify to be considered an HT-OG but I think I'm damn close. I've been through a few cars but about a year ago I sold my 95 Milano Red GSR and regretted it ever since. So it's that much more sweet to have the opportunity to own 01-1295. This car obviously reminds me of my GSR but the Type R is much more focused.... this definitely feels engaging in every sense of the word even in stock form.

She is bone stock except for a test pipe (PM me if you have an extra catalytic converter!). There is about 97.2K on the clock and she is a very clean example with original bumpers and fenders. The paint could use a little bit of work but you can't complain for it's age. The interior is in great shape as well and completely original.

Anyway, please feel free to shoot me any questions. I honestly don't know where to start! So pumped about getting this car it's pathetic!!!

Yea she has been around the block a bit but seems to have been cared for... I might be the 5th or 6th owner!

She's not perfect right now... May need wheel bearings and the throw-out bearing is definitely noisy. The steering also seems a bit "loose" and may need some new ball joints and tie rod ends. I'm just debating about doing the work myself or taking it to a reputable shop local to me. I can't determine if the wheel bearing noise is actually tire noise or not....

It needs new rear tires and the throw out bearing was changed when I bought the car at 77k miles so I was told. Keep heR safe and out of harms way. The steering wasn't loose when I owned it 2 months ago so I dunno what could be the problem there.

Thanks John. You wouldn't happen to have the original catalytic converter would you? And what made you decide to sell her?

I did rotate the tires and thought the tire noise was coming from the front afterwards instead of the back when I initially drove her home. The steering feel might just be me honestly... I don't know what "normal" is with this car yet.

Replace the 2 tires you have now on the front and you will be good to go there... The car had an aftermarket cat on it when I bought witch is gone now.. I got laid off otherwise I would still own heR. The steering should be 100% like it was 2 months ago. If you decide to ever sell .. Give me first shot if you would please sir..

Gotcha... I really appreciate the input and I'm sorry to hear about getting laid off man... I sent you a FB friend request last week and a few messages as well. I was doing some research on the car and figured out you were one of the previous owners.

I will certainly give you first shot if I ever decide to sell.

Thanks dude... I certainly will. I work at the Nuclear plant about 10 miles away so not much to worry about during the day from a security standpoint.... You need a badge or transponder to get through the manned check point. Security is being worked out in the garage and for the car this coming week.

Will do! The car is back on the road, have some plans for minor changes as the money comes in. Looking forward to seeing your R, only a handful in Jersey still!

Congrats! Wait until you really get into heR and are able to pickup on all the differences between GSR and ITR.

Even in stock form over a modded GSR.

Welcome to the fam
