Default Ej1 D to B series Swap - Is B16 or B18 easier to find and less expensive?

Hello there H-T, so I recently broke my Rod Bearing on my 95 Civic Ex & I figured it's the perfect time to Do a Engine Swap. I actually don't plan on doing the swap until maybe around the end of summer due to No job at the moment.

Anyways, I was looking for some advice, recommendations, anything that you people here on H-T would like to say to help out. I don't know everything about engines but I was a Mechanic Intern I guess you can call it for about 7 months recently. I'm always open to learning new things I'm hoping to use my First time swap as a great learning experience. From now until I begin to start working on my civic I plan on learning more and more (:

I'm very excited and I am going to start planing, I am thinking of going with either a B16 or a B18.. Any stories or experiences you guys would like to share are more than welcomed. I will post some pictures I have of my car tomorrow.

PLEASE read threads in the FAQs sticky. This will allow you to develop specific tech questions, which is required in this forum.

I've been Reading many and many different threads as well as the FAQs sticky. Haven't read through it all but I have read small portion of it for now.

So you've decided on B16 or B18 swap. Which one interests you most? What specific technical questions not covered in the FAQs sticky do you have about the swap of your choice?

Well I'm still finding out more about both engines, I'm leaning more on the B16, but I've read many times that it's hard to find a good one without having it have a ton of miles on it. As for The B18 I'm still doing my research on it. Currently i don't have any technical questions. Only things I am wondering are Which would be an easier to find, and less expensive..?

What kind of B16 or B18?

At the beginning of the FAQs sticky, do you see the 2 links embedded in the red text? Have you read them?

I was thinking either a B16B, B16A1, or B16A2 .. And B18B1, B18C1 or B18C2
I'm not sure which ones are harder to get my hands on more than others .

I have read both those links and they were both great reads. I've actually read them both more than once. ..

I've looked on other pages people have mentioned in other threads.. I haven't seen that one.

Another thing, I've read other places but what's a good thread that explains how to go from OBD1 to OBD2 ..?

There are multiple types of B18's. If you're going to give information, give full information, otherwise you're giving wrong information.

I have a feeling someone would have to shove an ice pick through their eye socket to understand what you're babbling about.

This whole thread is nothing but an opinion poll, and is bringing all of the idiots out from under their rocks. Why is it not locked yet?

i agree with you, that was my plan either turbo the b20b or put a vtec head on my b20b in the future. then if i still have it put a stroker kit on it.
