02 Civic EX Sudden Loss of Power/MIL
2002 Honda Civic EX with 175,000miles. My malfunction indicator light has been off and on for the past two years throwing off the gas cap code. I brought it in and was told it was not a huge deal so I let it go without repairing. Recently I brought my car in and was told that code was now related to my catalytic converter. I am driving this car until it dies and do not want to pour money into it so I have so far not put any effort into fixing this code either.
Recently, I stopped into a grocery store and when I got in the car, I had trouble starting the engine and when it did it felt like it was barely on. I could floor the pedal and RPM would go over 5000rpm, yet I would not go past 20mph. The car sounded different, as if it was gurgling while trying to accelerate, and it idled extremely inconsistent. I was able to drive home since it was less than an eighth of a mile away, and the next day I didn't have any issues. That is until today. Driving home from work and all of a sudden, while going about 10mph between lights, I hear and feel my car stutter and I experience the same issues as that one day (no acceleration, inconsistent idle, almost felt like running out of gas). I pull over and open the hood, it seems hot but my temp. gauge was normal after a 25mile drive home. I sat for roughly 10 minutes and re-started to no avail, however I was again within 1/4 mile and was able to slowly make my way home.
I'm going to an advanced autoparts in the morning to pull the code and see what comes up as my MIL is still on, and then will be going into a Honda specialized service shop to see what they say. I'm looking for any information/links/leads that anyone might have so I am able to have an idea what to expect or how to fix it. Thank you

Pull the codes and note them. Reset ECU to clear the codes. Then drive the car and, when the CEL turns on, pull the codes again. Post all codes that appear after the ECU reset.
Also, how old are the spark plugs? If you don't know replace them with NGKs.

pulled codes this morning, they are as follows..
P0420 - Catalyst system efficiency below threshold
P1259 - VTEC system malfunction
P1361 - Intermittent interruption in TDC 1 sensor circuit
P1362 - No signal in TDC 1 sensor circuit
to me (unexperienced) it seems like the last three could possibly be related?
