I am thinking about getting an accord in the near future and I would like to know what you guys recommend. I am going to be using the car as my daily driver so it needs to be safe and reliable but I still want it to be somewhat quick. I have around 5 or 6 grand to spend on it. Let me know what you recommend.
Thanks

Define somewhat quick? I would either by a 5th gen, and deal with the road ripping 130 hp, or do like gogeeta13 said and by a low 4th gen & mod the heck out of it. IMO I think the stock 5th gen would be more reliably than a modded 4th gen, but I could be wrong.
IMO the bullproof engine award goes to 3th gen...
and my fd's mother's 1982 accord, she even pour in diesel once LOL
yep, 1006 post already!

I say if you want speed get a 92-93 since it's lighter and if you so decide it will be a little easier to drop in an H22. If you want something a little newer looking I'd say 94-95.
94-95 EX for <$6-7k. I wouldn't pay more than $3.5k for a 4th gen EX. These are LA 1-owner prices...S.D. is a little cheaper i've noticed.
I would get the 94-95 ex over 96-97 cause I like less chrome in general. Nice 7-spoke rims. OBD I responds better to mods. Newer SRS air-bag deployment system....ABS can be leaking on some so check it...look for J-VIN's...
The 4th gens are getting to be 10 years old now. Hard to find lower milage ones. Lots of trash out there. 1owner 92-93 EX's tend to be priced higher i've noticed. They see 5th gen prices and think their pricing should be linear...NOPE!!!

get a 94-95 ex 5-spd and you will have fun, not the fastest out there but still enjoyable to drive. plus the suspension, alloy wheel and many other engine improvements from the factory are worth it. if you want a car to just drop in a h22 in , get the lighest accord you can(probably a 4th or 5th gen DX) and you will have fun.
btw, 94-95 ex's are good looking IMO.

*cough* 5th gen, best looking, best suspension, take-a-licking-keep-on-ticking-body *cough*
