95 DX Coupe slow daily
Started out as this.. a beat up but stock 95 Civic DX Coupe.

Under the hood it had a D15B7 that sounded like a jack hammer. When I took it apart two rod bearings were completely MIA.

The first order of business was to pull the engine n trans and get the engine bay cleaned up. I won't be doing any wire tucking or any big performance mods. I just want a relatively OEM looking bay and a somewhat subtle, clean exterior. Keep in mind I want to put as little money into this car as possible while still having some fun with it.

So I ordered a ZC Vtec longblock to replace the knocking B7. Put in a new clutch and flywheel etc
I also did a little suspension and brake upgrades.. Integra front and rear brake swap along with integra anti sway bars, some aftermarket LCAs, Integra front lower tie bar. Its got Skunk2 street coilovers to get it down. Skunk2 dual bend shifter, mugen rep shift ****. I swapped the wheels with some 15x6.5 Fuel wheels on 195/50s, front and rear lip, OEM Integra 4 door axle back.
Heres how she looks now

And yes that seems to be a strong little engine for a single cam. Has no prob doing 130+mph and keeps up with a friends b20b1 coupe with gsr trans. All I have done to it is throw on an ebay header that I had laying around, swapped the stock intake tube with a smooth aluminum one, "ram air" into the factory airbox that is debaffled, and the oem integra muffler.. Heres a video of a run. He got me but not by a whole lot..

For the interior I wanted a clean look with a few changes. I couldnt find a set of gray door panels for manual windows and locks but I did find a set for an EX that I used the outer part of the panel and re wrapped the DX center sections of the door panel. So I got OEM door tweeters, power lock switch that Ill hook up when I do my keyless install, and EX door panel storage. Also Used white LEDs in all of the gauges etc. What yall think?

Love the car !same things happened to my 95 Ex Coupe with the rob bearings. I plan on doing something simple with mine as well. Can't wait to see what's to come with your car.
Thanks yall, much appreciated! Future work will include some body work and cheap paint job, alarm with remote start n keyless entry, jdm audio console and arm rest, MAYBE a little nitrous just for fun..
Thank you. Since one day this thing should be making a little more power I've been thinking about more ways to improve the car itself. Keep in mind I do plan on keeping this a low budget daily driven car so I wont be throwing any expensive parts at it.
As I already have upgraded from the stock dx brakes, I decided to start sourcing parts to take it a step further. I read an article on using Legend two piston front calipers with re drilled 11" prelude rotors up front and using rsx rear caliper brackets allowing a 10.2" ep3 rear rotor and bigger rsx pads to be used. Ill Also be changing out my master cylinder for a '91 civic ex's to compensate for the other upgrades. After that Ill be looking for a thicker rear anti sway bar and brace. Then I think the car (with the right power) could be pretty fun at local autox events and maybe even a track day or something. Maybe overkill on brakes but really.. can your brakes be too efficient?

Oh, also just got my new transmission from hmotors. says to be ex/si equivalent. The trans in my car has had a bad whine since i got it on the road and it hasnt gotten any better. Will be nice to get rid of the noise and the garbage xtd 6 puck for a Exedy oem replacement. I cant believe it slips on a stock single cam.. junk. Waiting on new axles then Ill be changing all that.
Dang whole kit was only $100? Awesome. I want something simple so I'm not looking into big nice body kits, just extensions. Could you send me some details of exactly what you ordered please? I'm horrible at finding this ****.
