Question about factory fitted alarm
Hi,
I have only had my car a few weeks, but have noticed that when the alarm is supposed to sound it doesn't, the indicators flash, but there is no sound!
I have checked the bonnet catch, as I understand these can be a problem, but it's fine, the only thing I can't find out is where the alarm module is fitted, or if there is a fuse somewhere that somebody may have pulled.
So does anybody have any ideas please?

You are in the UK so some things might not be that same as what I'm use to in NA versions of these.
One press of the button and the light on the door panel should light up/blink. A second press of the button within ~5 seconds (assuming everything is good) will create a sound.

Thanks for replying, I thought things may differ between the two countries, but that it was worth a shot asking. I really need to know where the alarm siren is located, or if there are any fuses that the previous owner may have pulled out to silence the alarm?
I don't have a light on my door panel, just one on the dash pod that flashes when the alarm is active, and the alarm makes no sound when I lock the car!
When I sit in the car, and the alarm is armed, the sensors in the cabin pick up the movement and set the alarm off, only there is no sound from the alarm, just the indicators flashing.
Well I'll be honest I don't have experience with factory alarms but I am aware that on most systems the confirmation horn you speak of is a changeable setting. This could be changed by either switching the micro-switches on the alarm unit itself or by using the remote control and pressing a sequence of buttons. I would research how to program the alarm system, there should be some information on the web here. If that's not your issue your gonna have to diagnose the problem, ideally with a multi-meter to see if you have a failing horn or electrical circuit fault.
