The Navigation screen on my 2003 Accord EX-L is blank. I can clearly see the back light, however, it is just totally blank. I just purchased this car. Does anyone have any ideas for diagnostics?

 

Have you checked to see if there is a DVD in the box in the trunk?

If it isn't bringing up a screen asking you for the codes, could be a dead screen or a dead unit. You can find them refurbished but they aren't cheap.

 

The navigation DVD is in the player in the trunk.

The screen stays dead most of the time with the backlight on, however, it came on twice when I started the car on Sunday. It came on saying "updating, do not turn off the car", then it asked for the code. The code that I have is incorrect, so I need to get the correct code from the dealer. After driving, it cut back off. It came on again when I reached home, however, it cut off even before completing the status bar on the screen. It hasnt come back on again.
