Default Airbag light 2005 Accord

I bought an 05 Accord LX a few weeks ago and after a few days this airbag light comes on and have been on since. When I start the car it will come on and off for a second and then stays on until I turn off the ignition.

my 2006 has the same light on. Its for a bad drivers seat airbag sensor in mine. Likely similar on yours

That is your SRS light, go have the code pulled and see what it reads. Anything seat belt related is covered free of charge at the dealership unless the car has been wrecked, I mention this because often times Hondas set off SRS codes for a faulty seat belt buckle tensioners, but not always.

There is a TSB/recall on that issue, the problem is the buckle.

Try doing this:

Buckle up before turning your car on. If that keeps the airbag light from coming on, the problem is the seat belt buckle.

Thanks, but the same issue occurs.

I just noticed that my seat belt retraction system is very weak on both sides of my coupe, especially the passenger side. I recently noticed this when my mom would bang the male belt clip against the door sill while attempting to close the door. I'm going to go to Honda new week and attempt a free inspection and replacement of the seat belt since that mechanism should be 'covered for the useful life of the vehicle' per this link http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...303O00300A.pdf

But I want to make sure I know the code(s) first since I don't want to be charged a diagnostic fee. How do I pull codes myself on a 05 LX? Is there a good DIY?
Thanks

This link should help you get the codes. Good luck
