On the f22b2 engine. In the rear mount there is some type of vacuum what is that used for? I broke the rear mount and it supposedly ripped the vacumm out.

 

That is to control the oil filled engine mount. It is an engine mount that has variable stiffness that is controlled by the ECU.

 

So what happens when it breaks.

 

You will more than likely start to feel more engine vibration in the car. It will also probably start to rock back and fourth when you shift from forward to reverse and vice versa. It could have a sort of metal knocking or thumping sound when it does so.

 

Yesssss lol. I originally was trying to figure out what that thumping sound was. It was driving me crazy. When I was stopping sometimes it would thump and you could feel it. I thought it was my suspension originally, midas dumbasses trying to rip me off. Trying to charge me 3 grand for all the repairs. Telling me a rack n pinion was 800 dollars. I thought the guy lost his mind. I can get one for 120. Those guys were basically trying to rob me.

 

So did you notice idle issues due to having an open ended vacuum line? Also I think for the others that might read we should note that the oil filled mounts are on automatics only.

 

Yea I mean when it idled it would thump a single thump. Yea I have an automatic, but I plan on getting it switched to manual.
