92 Civic (Will not downshift into 2nd gear)
Hello, so I am very new into the Honda life. I recently bought a 92 civic cx hatchback swapped with a b16a2, but I am not sure on the transmission. I tried to do some searching and I hope I am putting this into the right forum.
*My car shifts fine from 1-5 and reverse, however, if I am making I turn I usually downshift into 2nd, but my car won't go into 2nd. I can downshift into third fine though. Any ideas?
Thanks!

How fast are you going when making the turn while downshifting. There's a reason why it won't let you get into 2nd unless you force it.
I am not sure exact speed, but around 2-3 RPM. It is not too fast to downshift though. I was able to do it no problem with my other civic and I can downshift into any other gear without issue.
Well, that was a rough estimate! Wow, rebuilding the transmission, that is way too far out of what I am comfortable with lol.
Exactly how are you trying to shift into 2nd? Double clutching? Are you rev matching? Is this only when turning, or when going straight?

Sounds like you were granny shifting, not double clutching like you should. You're lucky you didn't blow the welds on your intake.

I usually just try rev matching. I didn't have this problem in my other civic, but I am not "seasoned" at driving a manual either. All other gears are fine, just downshifting into this one is a problem. It doesn't matter, going straight or turning.
