Hi gang,

I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX...4 cyl with Auto trans..223,000+ miles

Is the Auto Trans a CVT??
What type of Honda Trans fluid is recommended??
Will another brand/type of Trans Fluid be acceptable and if so, what ?? (I was told that the Valvoline MaxLife Dexron/Mercon ATF was acceptable)

If you are stuck Dex III can be used. Dexron IV can also be used, but its price point may be higher than Honda ATF.
