Default Valve Cover Leak?

2004 Civic Value Sedan, AT, 65K miles.

My mom's car looks to have a leaking valve cover gasket (pics attached). Not sure if this is a common issue with the 7th gens? She purchased the car three years ago with 50K and has put on about 15K since. It started leaking a few months ago and I have time now to look into it. If, it is the valve cover gasket can the valves be adjusted (1.7L)while I have the cover off? I've done couple valve lashes on my prior car..1998 civic ex coupe.
All replies appreciated.

I found a good video for the valve cover gasket:

I forgot to add that the cam plug might be the source of leak as well:

and it looks like the valves can be adjusted:

It could be the valve cover gasket or that little plug on the end of the cylinder head. Wash it down real good then start the engine and look for the leak.

I will do both the VC gasket, cam plug when I do a valve lash and hopefully that will stop the leak.

Make sure the gasket kit has the o-rings for the spark plug tubes and change those out while you're in there.

If you see oil pooling on top it is more than likely the cam end cap seal. I just did mine $13 at honda and very simple to do. If your planning on doing all the seals on the valve cover it wouldn't be a bad idea to change the timing belt while your in there if you haven't ever done so. Continental sells a nice kit

Sounds like head seal leak if on the passenger side dripping down under the valve cover I had the same issue. Got the replacement from amazon.
