I bought a p28 with s300 on eBay and the owner said it turns out to be a p06. I have a built b18c I need it for. I'm having trouble figuring out if it'll work.

I've been reading on the hondata website and Im confused as to if the ecus they list will work with the model of car or the engine in each car.

It says p06 will work with a del sol. So im assuming all they're saying is it hooks up to my harness so it's compstible?

Probably a noob question but im confused and want to verify before wasting my money.

The ecu you purchased on ebay may likely be a p06 with vtec added to it if it was advertised as a p28. You should post a picture of the inside of the ecu so it can be examined to determine if vtec hardware is added to the ecu.

It is not recommended to buy hondata products on ebay as authorized dealer's do not sell hondata products on ebay.

Sure you maybe trying to save money, but you will likely end up spending twice as much if you get a bad ecu or hondata sold to you.

 

Most of your questions can't be answered without questions directed back at you.

If your Del Sol is OBD-1 then yes. If not then you need a jumper harness.

B18C what exactly? Is it a Type R / B16 style engine or GSR style? If it's GSR and you want to keep the IAB then you need something different than a converted P06 or more involved than plug and play.

A converted P06 will work if you have an aftermarket intake manifold or Type R / B16 style head. The VTEC components just get added to the NON-VTEC ECU.
