Blown head gasket on 2003 honda civic

Just recently had an ASE master tech diagnose my car with a blown head gasket/crack. With everything calculated how much would you estimate a repair of this kind to be?

In the ballpark of $1000 - $1200, last time I checked.

I had a shop quote me at 1600-2k. I thought that sounded a bit excessive. I know they aren't cheap but still. Around 1000 is more realistic towards what I can pay.

i got lazy and paid a well known honda/acura shop out here about $900.
