Default Help Finding suspension noise.

Hello everyone,

My car occasionally make this popping noise. It doesn't happen repeatedly so it hard to figure out what it is. Its definately coming from the front though.

I've tried jacking up the front end and pushing and pulling on 3 and 9 o'clock position on the tire and on the 12 and 6 o'clock position.

I didn't hear any noises when doing this. I'm not sure if the suspension has to be loaded the pop to happen.

I was thinking that maybe it was a bad ball joint.

Here are the details on the car.

Car:
1993 Honda Civic Hatchback DX
325,XXX miles on the chassis.

Stock Springs and Shocks.
Stock rack and pinion with stock steering wheel.
Energy Suspension bushings in upper and lower control arms.
Replaced the RTA bushings a while ago ( and I know its coming from the front any way.)

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

How much do you weigh?

You probably need a husky friend to wrestle your wheel to listen for noises.

Try steering endlinks? Could be the ball on steering rack side too.

Muscles or weight will help, in any case.

Get a few friends to rock the car from side to side while sitting on level ground and go under the front end and feel for the noise. By "feeling" I mean, put your hand over the suspension components - specially the sway bar links and bushings(does a '93 DX have a sway bar?) and you should feel a "click" in conjunction with the noise.
