2000 Honda Civic clutch won't engage
Hi guys, i used the search engine but nothing seems to meet my situation.
Started smelling clutch last night and then suddenly it felt like my car was thrown into neutral.
Car will only start with Clutch pushed to the floor, but I can freely move in and out of gears with clutch fully out. Will not lurch forward when I kick the clutch in and out. Heard rattling sound from what I thought was underneath the shift boot.
What do I do to trouble shoot and where do I look. Hope it's not my entire clutch):
DX hatchback 5 speed stock everything but lots of miles too, no info on previous maint.

Get under your car, look at the shift linkage to see if you lost the pivot bolt. It also wouldnt hurt to pull your clutch inspection plate and take a peek in the bellhousing.
I am not currently in a situation where I would be able to get underneath my car.
I looked at the clutch fluid and it's a gross murky grey color.
I started the car and saw that the CEL was flashing and then staying one solid color. I knew I was throwing an o2 code but now that it's flashing I'll look into pulling those.
Thanks everybody.

my clutch was always kind of sticky. *past 20k miles, past 1k it felt like it wouldn't fully function and i would smell clutch making me look like a first time manual user ):
You need to get it checked instead of waiting here for us to tell you what the issue is with your car. Your clutch pedal is sticky, it the cmc could be leaking. You need to verify that.
