Well, my friends and i are kind of accustomed to backyard motor swaps, however at this year's New Zealand 4 & Rotary Nationals, we decided upon a club display with a difference.

I dont think too many people have done a motor swap in a car show before...
Took a total of 90 odd minutes with 4 people involved...
Its a jdm b18c with a y21 lsd box...
The car had already had integra brakes etc swapped prior to the show...
The car raced at the drag racing the day after the show and ran a 14.2 which wasn't too bad.

The 4 & Rotary Nationals is a hugely popular event in my country, with 100,000+ spectators at the Show n Shine event on the Saturday, and around 35000 spectators at the drag racing on the Sunday. Each year the times get a bit quicker, this year no difference...
Fastest rwd - series 6 RX7 8.7s
Fastest 4wd - r32 gtr - 9.1s
Fastest fwd - turbo dc2 integra - 10.1s

What an Awesome idea for a show! Someone should do a 'K' series swap into the new Civic SI at next years NOPI. I'll volunteer my time and tools if someone will 'volunteer' and engine and chassis.

That is such a great way to get the noobies into the reality that its as much about getting in there and getting your hands dirty as it is about all the bling bling BS.

That ITR is either a fake or has had the rear bumper replaced. When the 98 spec Integra was updated with the new front and rear bumper covers and new headlights they installed 5 lugs on all DC2Rs. He might have just replaced the bumper cover with a updated one? The 95.5-97 didn't have the little cut-out alonf the bottom.

They did the same thing at this year Sema show in LA. They also did a few other install, I think big brakes, and some other stuff I didn't see. It is a good idea though. Nice pics.

Anyway...

The white integra there is an ITR...
The ITR's we get here are most often used imports from Japan. This one is a '96 ex japan, which, anyone who knows **** about ITR's knows, have a stud pattern of 4x114.3, with the 5 lug coming out on the 98 spec, which also came with 4-1 extractors n other slight upgrades on the 96 spec. You might be shocked, but even on a jdm itr, a stock bumper gets a little bit boring... so my friend has opted for a Max racing front bumper and the mugen skirts. The rear bumper has also been changed in favour of the 98 spec design.

The r34 there ran 11 something. It's probably somewhere from 600-700hp, while the 9 second ones run ~1000hp from the flywheel, either with a Trust T88, or a T51R turbo... Those are big turbo's, and at ~2bar they tend to do pretty well..

The Del slo i posted there runs a methanol injected turboed h22a. It asl has direct ignition, and runs a dry sump setup, hence the ability to sit the motor on it's side. It managed to totally destroy 2 sets of perfectly nice hybrid driveshafts (1/2 nsx 1/2 prelude) and not complete a single 1/4 run.
