Icon2 96 Honda Civic EX speaker issues.

So I bought new ALPINE 6x9s for the rear since the stock ones were going bad. I took out the old ones and put in the news. The wire for the new ones for long enough so I tested them out of the car before installing em and they worked. After I installed them and connected the wires only the Rear Left speaker worked, the Right one would not work. Did I accidentally cause a short? I'm not sure what exactly happened. Anyone have any ideas what it could be or how i could fix it?

Check for a loose connection.

Switch the speakers to isolate a wiring and a speaker issue. If the right speaker works on the left side, it's the wiring of the right side that went bad. If left speaker works on the right side, and the right speaker still doesn't work on the left side - you know what that means.

Hope you bought those with warranty.

I checked both speakers on the left side and they both work. I checked the wiring and connections and it all seems to be fine. I'm not sure what else to try or check. The wires seem to be ok up to the speaker, just very confused.

Time to switch the wires for the left and right side in the back of the stereo and see if the issue now happens on the other side. If it does, you should feel good because it's only an open wire. If it doesn't, and the left side is still functional, your stereo output for the right speaker is shot. You wouldn't want that.

Check and make sure your wire isn't broken somewhere along the run and contacting the frame

I checked as far down as I could and it all looks good. Could the wires have touched and caused some kind of short?

Bro I hate to say it but whatever your having should be pretty simple. Get a multimeter and test the continuity of the wires on the affected side. The instructions I gave you earlier is a process of elimination just in case you don't have a multimeter.
