Icon2 Need to change catalytic convertor - Recommendations?

2004 Civic Si

My check engine light came on today on the way to work. Took it to Advance and they said bad cat. After reading alot of stuff this evening alot are saying to go OEM.

Can someone please tell me a bit about OEM parts, pricing etc. I'm barely making ends meet but want my ride fixed asap. I've looked at a few online and so far I've gathered that Magnaflow is good. I'm going to check with a few places here on pricing to install.

I'd also like to know what the average price is for a good performance cat and also if it could be anything other than a bad cat.

Thanks.

Go OEM. You can get a used one off a junkyard car for cheap. Or check the classifieds sections of this site or EPhatch.com
