Default Stalled car in 1st gear and now transmission won't engage.

Hi all, I have an 00' Civic EX coupe and was wondering if any of you might know what the issue might be. I was stopped in 1st gear and was about to stall the car. I quickly engaged the clutch again and the car made a loud thump sound. Afterwards, when I engage the clutch and put the car in gear (any gear), the car won't move. With the clutch released, I can put the car into any gear. The car still runs fine when I turn it on so I don't think there's any engine damage. I believe it's a clutch related problem (hoping). What is the most likely issue?

I was also uphill and ebrake was engaged when this happened.

Start off by making sure your axles are still seated, but if I'm reading you right, you can freely shift gears without touching the clutch, with the engine running? Start off by draining the transmission fluid, and keep an eye out for any metal flakes, chunks, or debris.

An axle may have snapped or popped out of the differential.

Yes, I can shift the gears without touching the clutch with the engine running. I'll drain the fluid. Thanks.

Yeah I second an axle popped, preferrably the passenger axle.

Yeah, like I said, definitely start with the inspection of the axle. It's free. Changing fluids costs you...fluid. Cheap option, but not as cheap as getting your eyeballs on it and looking.

It ended up being a broken driveshaft. I had it towed to a mech to have it fixed.

Thanks all
