Only the V6 automatic models were recalled for the transmission. The "second gear jet kit" was installed. I don't believe there was any recall on the 4 cylinder engine models. I still have my original transmission on my 03 V6, but it's been well maintained, and not abused.

I do a drain and fill every 15,000 miles, and changed the filter (yes there is a filter you can change), a couple times now at 120k miles. Basically, change the fluid as often as you have too, to keep it looking clean and red. I use the Honda DW-1 fluid.

How can I tell if my car has had the recall done? It's a 2006 Accord V6 AT. I bought it with 97,000 miles, did the trans fluid change at 110,000 but not the filter.

Look at the fill bolt on the top of the trans.....is it just a bolt or does it have a "tube" attached/through it?

This is not a picture of my transmission, but it does show where the jet kit is located and the filter housing. Look down right at the end of the under hood fuse box, and you will either see the jet kit, or a bolt with ATF on it. I doubt an 06 model will have the jet kit.

There isn't a recall for your car. The recall is for the 2003 through part of the 2004 model run.

Definitely switch over to the new Honda DW1 fluid if you haven't already. It's a noticeable improvement over the old Z-1 ATF Honda recommended for our cars. In fact, I don't believe Z-1 is even available anymore.

My 2003 4cyl Nav. Accord went out at 174K miles. Decided to rebuild it my self and it takes a while to do. 2nd gear clutch pack was completely burned out and I have changed the fluid every 60K miles. Internal filter was dirty and the bearings were worn out on the 4 shafts.

According to the dealer the recall was just a software update. Which does nothing for the internal workings of the transmission.

Call your dealer and ask. Give him the VIN and they should be able to see if the recall if any has been completed. I have a 2006 Honda Accord LS 4 door with 107327 miles. I had a recall done recently for Drive side airbag and also they performed a recall for secondary shaft software update. I did not have any problems with my transmission.
