Help deciding on what to do with older engine in DelSol
My wife drives a 1993 DelSol with the smallest motor. It is painfully slow.
The engine is either burning lots of oil or the rear and front main seals are leaking like sieves.
I need some links to places that sell rebuilt motors for this car, and what are my options to get more HP out of the car easily.
If I increase the compression ratio and change out the cam (part number suggestions please) would I have to get a different computer?
Or would simply replacing piston rings, rear/main seals, water pump, timing belt be a cheaper option.
Either way I cannot remove the engine myself, not competent enough to try to on a front wheel drive car.

Don't understand you want to rebuild it or swap it out? Lol I have the same car with same motor yes it's sadly slow, but the motor was built for fuel economy NOT performance.

Yeah I am weighing the options. What motors are available to be put into the car...and wouldn't I need a different computer....I'm looking for easiest swap route if swapping is the best course for the money.

Accord 2.2 liter will take a lot modification, and wiring. What I'm looking at right now is the jdm 99-00 honda crv b20b motor, from hmotorsonline, it has nice torque, exactly what the stock d series motors lack, and slap a b16 or b18c1 cylinder head on which will increase cp ratio, you have a easy 165 bhp 150 tq. With good bolt ons even more, that IMO is your best bet. Not just saying it cause I'm doing it, but the motor is cheap, if your doing it at a shop it will also be cheaper than a Accord motor. Watch out for fishy shops too bro take it to one you trust and with good reviews and all.

the b20b, I imagine that is a 2L engine. Would any year fit in the car? Does the b20 come in vtec and non vtec models? And would it fit against the automatic trans that is there now?

You can make it a vtec later but not one normally.
ECU is better if OBD1. B16 ECU will run fine and very common. I believe all B20 motors are OBD2, I could be wrong but the switch was around 1996.
I have this same swap in my 93 DelSol and running great for the last 100kmi.
If so, then NO, the D series auto trans will not fit the B series engines.
You need to get a B series trans.
OP (original poster) since you have lack of knowledge in the honda culture, pretty sure you don't want to go b20 vtec, and just want a basic b20 to start your platform with, in that case the suggested Ecu of a b16, will not run that swap well. The b16 ecu is a vtec computer. The b20 is non vtec. OP you'll need a 96-00 p75 integra ls ecu that is the closest ecu to make that swap run good.
I'm not an old pro here, and don't want to challenge the forums culture, but sometimes it is possible to be so uninformed that you don't know where to start. Hopefully the OP will have enough info from us to start his own search.

You never stated your budget but get a JDM D15B SOHC VTEC and transmission, get the auto P28 ECU and call it a day. The auto trans unless you're willing to swap to manual isn't worth any upgraded engine.
