Default b16a dizzy cap different from b16a2 dizzy cap?

Hello Honda-tech members! I haven't been on here for quite some time now, and I bought an EK hatch 2 years back and did a JDM B16A swap into it. I drove it for a year and half and it was fine, but after a work injury, I didn't go to work and did not drive the car for 2 months. Then I started the car after two months, it started nice and strong. I drove it to the gas station, after a fill up, it suddenly start stalling and back firing. I slowly drove it to my friend's house's parking lot and tried to diagnose the problem. We found out that it starts fine in the cold, but once it warms up, it will start stalling and back firing and eventually just stalls and won't start. Before it stalls, it has this loud sucking goring sound too. I am unsure if it is the intake making that sound. The spark plugs should be all fine. Some one said it might be the main relay fault and I changed that too, no luck. Could it be the distributor or fuel pump? I got a B16A2 distributor cap to try and change it, and it didn't fit. Where can I source a b16a cap, if that is really the problem? We took off the distributor cap and found some rush inside the cap, not sure if that's really bad. Someone please enlighten me on this!!! The car has been sitting there for over a month already and I am scared one day someone would tow it. THANKS!!!

I always order a cap for the 95 del sol vtec (DOHC) when I replace mine and have never had an issue.

you should check the part #'s and see if it's different from the one you ordered.

Is it a OEM distributor?

Really? For the JDM b16a? I can't find a part # for it. Do you know where it is? I am unsure if it is OEM. I got the distributor with the engine when I got it.

Someone may have used a GS-R/Type R distributor, they bolt up the same, and work the same, but they use a different cap. 30102-P72-006

You can also try one for a '92 - '93 GS-R: 30102-PT2-026

not sure about the others, but an obd1 B16a distributor should be marked td44u.

Do you have any similar markings stamps on the distributor?

My friend usually work on the car at night so we can barely see any markings. Anyways, tonight we put back my original cap back on after cleaning it a bit, and after some struggle, it finally started!! the car warmed up fine and we drove it a but, then it started back firing and stalled again. Then the car wouldn't start. Do you guys think getting a new dizzy cap can fix this problem or do I need to get a whole new distributor? Thanks in advance for answers! I am so lost!

I tried the 1999 Civic si cap for the B16A2, it didn't fit. It was a bit off

you need to verify the markings on the distributor at this point, if you can take a pic of the markings
