Notice how the guide pretty much tells you to go ahead and repaint the digits BACK onto the plate? That's so you can read it. Hydro-dipping and what this is talking about is not the same thing. Use some brains.
Go ahead though. Be the first to catch that ticket.
And how is this even REMOTELY technical? I can see that in the years you've been a member in this forum you have no clue how it works.
Back in the day, when California plates were blue and gas cost less than $1, I punched 7 louvers in my rear plate and turned the front plate upside down and punched 9 louvers in it.
I didn't want to push my luck and deface the tab/sticker so thats why the rear only got 7. That one mod got me pulled over almost daily in 3 states. My point is the police seem to frown on anything that makes it hard to read a license plate. The plate pissed them off so they would write me for every equipment violation they could come up with.
So there ya go.....over n out.

My friend back in highschool thought it was a good idea to paint his license plates black with white letters. (Nj plates are yellow/white with black letters) we told him it was a bad idea, long story short, a few days later he got pulled over and got the car impounded, he had to go to dmv and get new plates in order to get the car back. All said and done it was a $600+ mistake between fines, new plates and impound fees.
