99 Civic DX Hatch
Hello All, My son and I have taken on this project for the remainder of the winter here in Ontario, hope to have the Civic Hatch on the road by spring. Current condition is as follows: Motor/tranny are installed. Axles are out, sitting in back seat. The guy I bought the car from had attempted the wiring but made a bit of a mess. I need to understand the wiring harness and make sure it connects correctly to the ecu. Goal is to put the wiring back together, neat as possible, check the fuel connections, and then attempt to start the motor. Once the motor is running we will install the front axles, or maybe have these installed by a pro. Anyway, this was just an introduction to why I joined the site. I will be searching the site for more specific posts to help me wire the civic hatch, maybe meet others who are attempting a similar project. We will also take lots of pictures to post which may help others with a similar project in the future.

Hey Guys
Spring is here (almost) or at least its warm enough to open the hood on the dx once again and come up with a plan. My take on this dx is that whats going on under the hood is not so bad. Its a cool 1.5 ltr motor, and it looks like we have the wiring harness and ecu. My son is saying that vaccuum lines need to be added, and the harness connected, but we are not too far from turning the key. The wiring under the dash is a different story, my son and I are not feeling so good about it. We are unsure what the previous owner has done and why he took the dash out, but figuring out this wiring may be more than we can handle. I'm going to post some pics, and thought their may be someone who can comment based on a similar project they have taken on with a dx hatch. This may not be the project for me, even though I know this will be a cool (and fuel efficient) car if I could get it back on the road. Take Care, Dan
I've attemped to upload pics, will see how that turned out after I post.
