Hi,

I have a 2002 Honda Accord LX with 220,000 miles.
Recently I have been having a lot of motor problems as well as the transmission jerking really hard.
I took the motor and automatic transmission out and swapped it with a motor and transmission from Japan.
I purchased it online and got it shipped to my house.
Says motor and transmission only have 40K-50K miles on it.
I got both put back in the car this afternoon.

I need to buy fluids for it.
When I bought the transmission, all it said was:
98 02 Honda Accord Odyssey 4 Cylinder 2.3L Automatic Transmission JDM F23A MCJA
Does any one know what transmission fulid I should get for it.
Will buy it tomorrow and see if everything runs right.

The JDM engine and trans use the same fluids as your original equipment. Honda ATF or equivalent will work.

 

How well did the jdm work in your accord? I'm thinking of doing the same

 

Like GhostAccord said, it'll use the same fluids. I just had a JDM take-out engine put in my wife's 98 Accord EX a month ago since the original was consuming about 1 qt of oil every 400 miles or so. We also had a salvage tranny and new Honda clutch assembly installed, so it's practically new. The JDM engine is running great and it's not consuming oil and the oil looks clean when I check it! The engine has 59k miles on it according to the place (out in California) where my local Honda shop had it shipped from.
