Hello everyone, I got a 98 Civic that squeaks in the rear portion every time I go over speed bumps, or when the car bounces for that matter.

Is it safe to assume that the rear springs are the problem? Or could it be something else.

The car has a stock suspension by the way.

 

deteriorated spring seats or bushings, or perhaps the struts. the springs themselves really dont ever squeak, there has to be another factor involved.

 

Thank you for the reply. I'll check the struts, bushings, and the seats during brake maintenance next week.

 

Have you at any point removed and reinstalled the rear lca? If so did you reinstall with the suspension loaded? Or hanging free?

I know this can cause a squeak...and its bad for bushings.

If not this...then check bushings and shocks as mentioned
