Default Cold Air Really Does Matter . . .

Went to the Drag Strip today. Not a regular occasion but 2-3 times a year after we modify our cars a group of us will get together and run.

Last time I went it was 88 degrees and humid. I had an AEM, and JDM 4-1, Azenis on Millenia wheels and a light weight battery. I ran a 14.60 @ 96

Today was 51 degrees and humidity was moderate.
Have AEM, JDM 4-1, Hondata IM gasket, Stock Exhaust, 01 ITR intake cam, Toda Cam gears, Power FC (untuned), ATS Final Drive (4.929), Azenis on Millenia wheels.

Ran a 13.83 @ 101.81 mph.

I ran a 13.86 and a 13.90 as well.

I am very pleased. And to the person that said the ATS wasn't a drag racing final drive and ju7st a road racing FD, I could not disagree MORE! THat thing was beautiful. I willed 2.11-2.17 60's all day long with no problems.

EDIT: As a side note, we figure the cold air was worth at least .2-.3 secs in time.

That's a great time! Now I really want to see what you would dyno at... and do some pulls. I definitely think the weather was perfect tonight in TN/GA... my car was pulling hard in 5th @ 3,000 rpm. heh.

Stock ITR weight... and probably w/ spare and rear seats taken out, I'd guess. 2,500-2,600lbs.

Your B18C5-CRX would have serious problem hooking up the tires.

Weighed with 1/4 tank (a little more than I had today), stock wheels (millenia wheens weigh about 16 pounds less) and no driver was 2520 on the corner weight scales. Figure about 2495 lbs.

Rear seats were in, spare and jack were out.

Awesome times man! I think I have to find a track that's open around here in the dead of winter. I'm gonna shoot for temps. in the 10s.

Of course cold air matters.
Cold air INTAKES however, DO NOT.

btw, ats FD is great for low power cars. Get some real power behind it and
you'll find that the 4.93 combined with the ITR gearset isnt the best for drag.

Good point. I could see wheel spin becoming a problem. I don't plan to put much more power behind it.
