Default 1991 prelude swap

SUP fellas i was wondering i have a 1991 prelude si. I love it even though its a bitch to find parts for it. I was thinking of dropping a jdm h22a type s engine in it. Do you fellas think it is a good idea or just get a new car? thanks by the way my engine now has 240,444 miles on it.

Well, LOTS of people will tell you "why bother..its an old car" or they will say "its not worth it" MY opinion is DO IT!! But only if you have enough money and another car to drive...As far as my personal experience...GET A MECHCANIC THATS KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOIN..Or do it youself..I THOUGHT my mecanic knew what he was doing...i got screwed. I had (actually still have) problems with my swap...i was throwing a code 20 (eld)..so after months and months of trying to figure out what was wrong i took my car to a buddy of mine thats done the same swap..(that car is my daddy) and about 5 mins later he cut and connected a couple wires that were supposed to be done originally and found my unconnected knock sensor...and now im code free...

As far as the mount kit and all that only one company makes it and sadly its place racing....THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!!! I paid like 1500 for their products (mounts, axles, engine harness, adapter harness) and they basically had little to no tech help on this swap....and of course the guy who "knows" the answers to all the questions we had "wasnt available"

Once you get over that hump the swap (now that i look back on it) could have been done myself with the help of 2 or 3 friends...and i am somewhat pleased....still gotta work out more bugs and get it on the dyno...if you have anymore questions email me at xxdpgxx69@aol.com..

last bit of advice........BUY A HELMS MANUAL FOR BOTH YOU CAR AND NEW MOTOR!!

oh and one more thing if the h22 goes right in and has no probs. Will you feel a big diff cause i know the h22 comes out of the newer ludes and they are very heavy, but the 1991s are not to bad i dont think? I just want to make sure i will feel the diff cause for my engine now with 140 hp it does move pretty fast. So this might be a dumb question if it is sorry. Oh and by the way i have an auto got the car from my uncle back in 1998. How much would it cost to change to a manual with the h22 in it. thanks

Hell yeah you're feel a difference. You're beable to feel the power of a VTEC motor, plus if you put one in your car, it could be a sleeper. No one would ever expect that motor to be in a 91 prelude...Have fun if you do this swap
