Would this work?
Well I have about $5500 to spend on a car and I was looking at Civic's, but I thought of this as another option and was wondering if it would work. Could I get a 92 or 93 Prelude Si and then save some money and swap in an H22A in there? Then maybe go turbo from there? Has anyone ever actually done this or would you not recommend it?
Thanks, I really appreciate it, I tried searching but it didn't find much.
It seems as if the Prelude part of H-T is kinda dead, howcome prelude's arent as popular as all the others?

people dicriminate against what they don't understand.
Prelude's were a whole different kind of car, everything new and innovation came to America on the Prelude
poepl also thought the Prelude was a glorified civic, just more aggressive styling, and a bigger engine, w/ a larger price tag, they didn't realize that the Prelude was a platform all it's own.
i've got a friend with a B18C5 in his HB, well, another one of our friends that actually workks for Honda/Acura thinks that is the greatest engine ever made. while we were disassembling the B18C5 for some new rings he kept talking about how it has this, and it had that, and how it was so much better blah blah blah... then i started telling him how the H22 had the same stuff, but better, and even had things the B18C5 doesn't. he still thinks it the greatest engine ever made, but once i drop a bone stock H22 into an EG HB, then i think he might consider changing his mind.

Hell for $5500 you could probably BUY a 93-94 VTEC. It might not be in the best condition, but its still an H22a1 under your hood.
Believe me, I bought a 93 S (135hp 2.2l SOHC) with a plan to swap the H22 in. When its all said and done, you'll be closer in cost to a VTEC model anyway although you won't have any of the VTEC model's extra goodies.
